Gautam Gandhi, MD, PhD received the Journal of Neurochemistry's inaugural Editors' Award for his paper "Astrocytes are poised for lactate trafficking and release from activated brain and for supply of glucose to neurons." Dr. Gandhi completed his research in the laboratory of Dr. Gerald Dienel in the Physiology and Biophysics graduate program. He is a resident in the Department of Neurosurgery at UAMS.
